What are some ways to stop smoking cigs without using food as a replacement?

I have tried gum, patch, cold turkey etc… I have recently gotten bronchitis and have tried cold turkey again but I’m eating EVERYTHING! I’m not overweight but I will be if I don’t get on the right track! Any good suggestions?
Thank y’all for all of your advice….very helpful!

Try the Electronic cigarette. You are looking for something to put into your mouth and the action of smoking is really the only thing that might help you. If you think you are good without the nicotine, use a zero mg nicotine cartridge.

I smoked for 10 years and I quit about a year ago. My doctor perscribed me Chantix and it worked wonders! You might be able to get a free trial online somewhere? Good Luck!!

smoke your normal amount one day. Then for the next couple of days, try one less and keep doing that until you eventually hit 0.

i had a bit of will power and went cold turkey

it was hard. its not quick and its not easy.

a whole year max, or say, 6 months, to where you wanna be; where i am. ie, would never touch one, can easily be around people who smoke and i don’t care. i used to smoke about 20 marlboro red a day as i recall

so i can’t help you if you’re not strong

but i would never ever of used patches gum, etc. its still nicotine, you are still paying for the sh*t.

just take a deep breath, convince yourself you’re going to do it, and tell yourself it will take time.

also, i recommend Allan Carr’s ‘easy way to stop smoking’. it Truly works, although i didn’t use it myself i read bits after i stopped and its exactly how i feel. good luck :)

Try switching the way you get your nicotine (gum and patch simple being to common and easy), for example if you switch to dipping you will have the nicotine you want, and you will be grossed out enough so that you’ll find it easier to stop dipping after switching from smoking.
